Use the route chart

The chart is more than the place the computed track appears. Its controls answer three different questions: what weather is present, where the search could reach, and whether a line you have in mind survives the same model comparison.

Move through time

Drag the time control under the chart. The boat, weather field, current field, and every displayed candidate move to the same instant. Touch or hover the chart to read the position and, where available, wind, boat speed, heading, current, and sea state.

Show the fields

Choose Wind, Current, or Off in the chart field control. Wind particles show the wind at the selected time. Current particles set with the water rather than with the boat.

Weather removes route geometry and leaves the fields, crosshairs, and clock. Use it when several tracks are hiding the feature that caused them to separate.

Not every route has every layer. Currents depend on plan and geographic coverage; a shared or reopened route may preserve the answer without retaining a field that can be animated locally.

Show the search

Toggle Isochrones to display the frontier reached at each search step. Their spacing and lobes show where the boat was slow, where one direction paid, and where a constraint stopped the search. See Read the isochrone display.

Test your own line

Press Draw line, then click points on the chart. The product times that complete line under each available wind model and puts the comparison beside the routed candidates.

This does not optimize or repair the line. It answers the narrower question: if the crew sailed this geometry, how would each prepared model score it? Use Clear line to remove it.

The control appears only while the current tab still has the forecast package needed to evaluate the line. A share link can show the stored route but cannot invent those local model fields again.
